The Good List 2020

I love lists--especially when I'm able to cross items and tasks off--and I like to spend the end of a year thinking on fun goals for the next year. Where will we visit? What books I read? Is there a new hobby I want to try? But this year, I've been encouraged by seeing other women of God share lists looking back and reflecting. There is nothing for me to cross off because it is not my labors or efforts, rather these are times to remember what God has done. Let us not forget amidst frustration, discouragement or maybe just boredom that God is good and faithful yesterday, today and forever.

My Good List 2020

-Bringing Eric home after a three and a half week NICU stay and an additonal two week wait for paperwork to be signed by the necessary state agencies

-Steven purchasing his family's machine shop at the end of Februrary. Buying a business during COVID wouldn't have been in our timing, but God knew and He has provided work to keep the shop running.

-Seeing family and friends who serve overseas as they return on home assignments and permanently

-Participating in a small Bible study this summer at Elizabeth-Sharon's. It seemed initially strange to be limited to 5 people, but I was grateful for the intimacy and time to grow in relationship with this group.

-Learning to french braid thanks to YouTube and a willing daughter while watching Cinderella

-Lots of time playing board games and card games with our kids and that our kids are at an age to play real games (not just Candyland and Chutes and Ladders!)

-More nights at home together without rushing out for lessons, classes and grateful how God sometimes uses quantity time to be able to create quality time

-Eric's adoption being finalized in July after post placement visits and legal forms were filed, and finally being able to get a social security card and birth certificate

-Turning our three season/sun room into a den/guest room that can be used year round including getting to demo with a sledge hammer (It was only fun for about 20 minutes, probably not the hours and hours Steven had to do after I started.) Also, going through and passing two county inspections for this project and our fence!

-Many restaurants in Los Alamos getting online menus and curbside pick up.  A dream for introverts and mothers of littles everywhere.

-Completing my first semester as a home school teacher, and finally, about 80 days in, finding a pretty good rhythm (and less crying!)

-After lots of sadness when I found out I couldn't drink coffee anymore, discovering the Royal English Breakfast Tea Latte at Starbucks and Sirphey's Thai Iced Boba Tea.

-Saturday family movie nights
