Parent Resource: 10 ways you can love your friend who has a child with special needs

Last week. I shared a favorite children's book to teach children that even though people have different abilities, God has designed them all for His glory  and how to love and respect those who have disabilities.

Sometimes these discussions take place in our families because our kids see someone at the park or the store, but we pray that we would also have friendships with parents of children with special needs in our neighborhoods, schools and especially churches. Hopefully that's true of you, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming to know what is helpful to say and do.

Sara Stegall, who is a pastor's wife and mother of a daughter with special needs, wrote this article and it was published ERLC, as she writes from experience is ways she has been (and hasn't been) well loved by those in the church. Let us love big and let us love well, especially in a season that heightens isolation and loneliness.
