Home School Corner: Interview with Stacey Wolking

I'm thrilled to introduce today's special guest as we continue to highlight grandparents and their involvement in home schooling. Stacey Wolking is not only a veteran home school mom and grandma, but she's also an education consultant for the Home School Legal Defense Association and my mother-in-law! I can personally attest to the depth and breadth of encouragement and aid she has rendered in our home school! Hooray, it's almost Sunday! Even though I'm not one of the people that will get to meet at church this week (for the first time since all this started!), I am SO EXCITED that Crossroads is starting to meet again! We're over here rejoicing, even at a distance, with you all! But social distance does NOT have to mean disconnected! We are working on ways to keep our Crossroads ladies in touch with one another, encouraged, and provided with ample options of things that are "honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and worthy of praise." (Philippians 4:8)\

Get to Know a Mom: Anna Haynes

We love a chance to get to share about these Crossroads moms. This month, Anna Haynes shares with us! Tell us about your family: Husband: Colin Haynes Married: 3.5 years Kiddo: Honora Haynes, 1.5 years What's your favorite mom tip or hack? “When in doubt, add water.” When your child is cranky and you’re out of ideas, take a breath, count down from 10, and add water: give kiddo a bath, run water over hands/feet, offer your toddler a drink of water (get one for yourself, if you’re like me, you probably haven’t had any yet), put water in a cookie sheet (outdoors is best) and splash in it. This hasn’t failed me yet. What is your mom must have? Munchkin sippy cups. The ones with the weighted straws are fantastic for going out and about because it will work at whatever angle your kiddo holds it. The no spill ones actually don’t spill without concerted effort.
